Amps 69 Libre

Well, Karolina predicted late last night that Ivy would take a dive overnight. And she was spot on 🫣
I need her crystal ball 🔮

At 2:30 am the Libre alarm went off that she was low and we spent the rest of the night having snacks to stabilize her (she stayed safe but low on the Libre)

Long night (I got maybe 4 hours of sleep prior to my wake up call)

Update on the deer situation in my back yard:
Mama wandered around my yard all day eating all my flowers 😘
DH was not amused with that aspect 😔

There’s one stray baby (#3) across the street under a bush. I don’t think mama went to feed that one as I don’t think she left my yard.
I’m contemplating moving that baby to my yard (I must be nuts) 🤨
I’m not sure if mama knows she went across the street to settle there.

I called a wildlife office and they said generally to leave a fawn alone unless it’s crying or in distress (so far this baby is just curled up and quiet).
I’m just concerned it’s not being fed.
But they did say it’s ok to move a baby (wear heavy gloves so you don’t get scent on the baby).
Will watch and evaluate today 🦌

It appears there are 3 from this mama. I spoke with my neighbor who saw them the day they were born, on Monday.

Of all the years I’ve seen deer in my yard, never have we seen babies before. But my neighbors said every year they have this. They are next door and their property has a little thicker line of trees. Probably better for hiding the babies 😘
 
Aww, very very long night for you both! I'm sorry. 😩 Love the comfort having the Libre alarms (aside from the absolutely ridiculous volume) overnight so we get alerted to a problem like that. I dunno how people who have to test manually handle the stress of going to be and simply being unaware? I mean I know they can make an educated guess about what the cycle might look like, but still. I couldn't do it.

Love the deer update! Such sweet babies. 3 from one mama is so much! She's got her hands full!

I agree, I’d be so nervous with no information.
I actually don’t expect that drop overnight, so I would have been sleeping away.

I do wish the volume was lower. It’s really awful.
Sometimes I even wrap my phone in a thick towel when I sleep. I. Can still hear it, but it dulls it next to me overnight 😫

Sorry for the late night. 🤗 hope you got a nap in and glad Ivy saw more great numbers.

I almost commented yesterday "don't bring them hay pillows and fresh organic apples, Staci." Haha cause I totally would have a hard time not welcoming them to the family, even if they were eating all my flowers!

Oh Staci! So sorry to hear you had no sleep last night and looks like she was not giving you much of break this morning either. Glad to see she's come up now. Hope you get a reprieve tonight and are able to get some rest. 🤗 💕

oh they are so precious, Laurie. Ivy is probably around the same size as these babies, their little scrawny legs are just longer!

Believe me I’m resisting the urge to go and cuddle these babies. I know it would be bad for their well being….but boy are they cute 🥰

I’m sure I will fall asleep while attempting to watch tv tonight 😬

Thanks, Kat, it was a tough night and again this morning up until +6. Whew, that was a long 10 hours of feeding her.
She looked at me the last few times with disgust at the spoon 🤨
