Argh! Looks like another bounce? I'm starting to wondering if I'm doing something wrong with the AM shot. Might try to shoot his right side instead tomorrow morning.

Pet sitter is coming tonight. Does anyone leave a prefilled syringe? I've read it's not a good idea because of the syringe fluid contaminating the insulin. She knows how to draw insulin but my OCD always wonders if it'd be better to leave her one.

Hope everyone's having a relaxing Sunday πŸ€—

These bounces are a blight on our community and need to be eliminated. 😩

I don't have any advice re: prefilled syringes, but best of luck with the sitter tonight! I hope all goes well and he slides back down gently for you. 😁🀞🏻

Come on down, Binx! Gently please! β€οΈβ€πŸ©ΉπŸŒŠπŸ„β€β™‚οΈ
Good luck with the pet sitter tonight, Briana!

I agree with the sentiment above, we know it’s best not to preload the syringes, but if for a short time maybe better for your comfort.
(And always great to have a sample dose with a dark colored liquid as a back up and reference anyway)!

I think the advice is not to pre-fill syringes, but, there was a horror story of a sitter overdosing a cat recently on Reddit. How long would it be pre-filled for?
I have the same question as Tim. I think if it's only pre-filled for a short while and it would give you peace of mind then why not? I wouldn't do it for few days in a row but i think few hours wouldn't cause harm.

I agree with the others, depends on how long. Could you maybe mark the syringe with a fine red sharpie or tape the opposite side?
Thanks, all!! πŸ€— Great advice and questions. It would've been for 7 hours, so I opted to prefill a syringe with water to show the dose. Next time I'll do the dark liquid, makes so much sense!!
