Bouncy weekend for Esse, although it made things easy for Sam while I was gone.

Our power was out from Thursday afternoon through about midday Friday. I am a little worried that the insulin got warm during that time, but from what I understand we should still get at least a few more weeks of use from this vial even if it did. We were still able to get the new Libre installed, using headlamps and a battery-operated worklight. Very dramatic! But being able to do it successfully is so empowering--we're 2 for 2 now!

I use a headlamp too, it's one of the things my dear friend Kit @Mikanmama taught me about a long time ago!

I have extra bright lightbulbs in the bathroom for doing my makeup without glasses on, so most of the time regular light is enough, but since we didn't have power and there are no windows in there, we had to break out the headlamps! Normally I only use mine for camping. But they are useful! I also packed for my trip wearing it!

The whole situation reminded me of a time I was at a routine doctor's appointment and the power went out, so they drew my blood using the light from the window. Very old-timey.

Super helpful, thanks! Definitely getting one of those Frio pouches, this is the second time in the last year that a storm has taken out the power in our neighborhood for more than 12 hours.
