6/30 DKA CKD Paco AMPS +500 +4 461

Hey everyone! Paco has been on his 1.25U (approximately since I'm not using a calipers) for 10 cycles after the current one he is doing. His nadir in the evenings is generally around 190-200. I know technically since I am doing the SLGS method that I should wait for one week. However, I have someone visiting in about 3 days and don't really want to start a new dose during that time. He's also been staying mostly in the higher 300s for most of the time.

My question is: Can I start a new dose with him tonight and if so, should I go back up to 1.5U which sometimes was a little low for SLGS?

We determine how to change the Lantus dose, based on how low the dose takes the cat. I see a 104 in there a few nights ago. Which is probably causing him to bounce right now.

So I should hold the 1.25U for a few more days? I probably won't change it right at 7 days because my friend will be visiting so that's why I was wondering if I should change it now, or hold it a few days longer. Would that 104 have been influenced by his previous dose potentially or would that probalby not have been the case at that point?

After a reduction, the larger depot can influence 4-6 cycles. That 104 was cycle 4, so not much of the 1.5 depot left at that point. I'd hold a couple days, unless ketones go up.
