Jude's PMPS is 50--quite low for him. My plan is to stall and retest in 20 mins. to see what direction he's headed in. Advice is welcome!

Updated to add: I checked him in 20 mins., and he was up 62, so he was headed back up. I think I know what happened. I gave Jude l-tryptophan last night because of the fireworks--I wanted him to relax--and he has been kind of sleepy all day and hasn't been eating like he normally does, so I think his bg just got too low because of that. He was STARVING when it came to his meal tonight, indicative of that low bg. I will monitor frequently tonight. Whew.

Thatโ€™s scary, Mary! ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Glad he came up a bit. Hope he has a smooth cycle ๐Ÿ’• That tryptophan is crazy stuff.
Thanks, Kat! It really is! I guess he's just really sensitive to it. Did you read Laurie's story about taking it herself? Look how low he was all day! Now, it might just be coincidental, but this happened the last time I gave it to him on 5/19--he ended up in the limes. I know people shoot in the 50s, but that's SCARY for me.

I did and yes, I remember the time you gave it to him previously. He must be sensitive to it. I donโ€™t see it as a coincidence. Were the rest of your kitties as sleepy too?

Not really sleepy. They weren't too disturbed by the fireworks, though--they seemed pretty chill. Hazel was a little nervous when they first started, but then she just sort of rested on her little scratcher bed. Jude was more worried, and he stayed under the kitchen table most of the evening.

For future reference, if you can monitor, you want to feed and give the shot. Especially since you have experience with lower numbers. The downside to stalling is that numbers can drop further without food - making the shooting decision more difficult. :-)
