Hi all
from yesterday:
However in a fortnight's time I am going to be going away for ten days. My cat sitter will be moving in to look after Noogi.
So I was thinking I would wait and look at an increase beginning of July.
I don't want to jeopardise our progress, but I also don't want to worry too much when I am away. I need things to go smoothly for my cat sitter as I have another slightly longer trip planned in a few months time when I am going to require her help again. I would rather Noogs be slightly higher while I am away than have her have to deal with any dangerous lows. And I was hoping to keep the need for ear pricks to a minimum (just pre-shot).
Is sticking to current 0.5u dose for the rest of the month the right thing to be doing? Or should I look at increasing dose to 0.75u for the next ten/eleven days, and then doing back down to 0.5u for while I am away? (I think I remember reading lowering dose while away is what others do?). @Wendy&Neko @Bandit's Mom would love your advice here
I'd appreciate any advice on leaving your diabetic baby with someone else. Any wisdom or helpful hints to share? Things that have worked/not worked for you?
As mentioned a day or two ago I am busy preparing notes for my cat sitter. She has looked after him for years but only once since his diagnosis (for a week last Christmas). Last time I was only a couple hours away and would have come home if needed. This time I am going to be far away, and possibly not even in cellphone range some of the time, which is making me very anxious. I have a friend and a cousin who will be emergency contacts. I will also give my vet a heads up. I have done a pet care authorization letter in case of a proper medical emergency. And I've printed out all the info about hypos plus a list of symptoms of pancreatitis to watch for.
One thing I am grateful about is that Noogi is not an anxious cat. I'm doing enough worrying for the both of us so he can chill

Hi all

from yesterday:
Been thinking about this. I have, of course, noticed more blue creeping in, including our highest one in a few weeks just now. He's still seeing quite a few blues (thankfully low ones) and nadirs mostly above 80. Any thoughts of an increase to see if you can move his numbers down just a bit?
