Yesterday's thread!

Repeating myself from yesterday's condo, but: Third time's the charm! Libre success!! 🎉 I know it probably won't last the full 14 days, but honestly just having it through my trip this weekend (leaving noonish today and getting back noonish Sunday) will be a huge peace of mind and make things much easier for my boyfriend, who will be running the show solo. It was honestly easier than we thought--exactly what the Facebook group says we'd say, haha. The electric trimmer was probably his least favorite part but since we were just trimming down an existing shaved spot, it didn't take long. We put out an oversized high-value snack and with some redirection he stayed occupied with it for basically the entire process.

Unfortunately we did have a furshot last night--he was a little jumpy with us touching him near the wrap for shot time. I do think some of it made it in but not the full dose. Based on today's data I still want to bump him up to 1.25 tomorrow because he's been so high recently and I think we'll have the curve to support it.

I've got two pics for you: One last OOTD from a few days ago when he was still in shirt jail for licking his shaved spot, and a fresh one showing off his self-adhesive wrap covering the Libre. Less handsome but more practical. :)

Happy Friday!

Congrats again on the successful Libre!! 😸 Must feel like a weight lifted, especially while you're gone.
Hilarious how comfy he looks in pic one and then in pic two, displeased 😂 He'll get used to the wrapping!
Nice to see he still curved a bit, even with the fur shot - hope he comes back down gently and you can have a nice time away this weekend 🥰

It's definitely partially the wrap and partially "Mom, it's breakfast time, COME ON". The wrap seems to allow him more freedom of movement and he didn't do the whole flop-down-and-barrel-roll routine he did when we first put the shirts on, so it can't be that bad!

It's so funny how the shirt makes them completely lose control of themselves. I guess if someone put something foreign on me and I had no clue, I would shut down a bit too 😅

I feel like I read somewhere that having things around their neck/shoulders can activate the same nerves that cause them to relax and go floppy when they're scruffed as kittens by their moms. But don't quote me on that because I have no idea where I saw it, haha. It is so funny to watch though!

Congrats again on the successful application! Such a big win, and hopefully eases all your anxieties while you're gone.

That shirt is SO cute lol but yeah, for whatever reason, some guys just really hate the clothes. It's funny because the shirt is so lightweight and loose, whereas the bandage is snug, but I guess it's something along the lines of what you said, that it just touches the wrong nerves for them. Other than being itchy some of the time Xander doesn't even seem to realize there's anything on him. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Cats are weird.
