Good luck with the increase and TR. We're all cheering you on from the sidelines!
And look at that meownificent picture of Esse. What a king! 👑 🐈💕

Good luck with the increase and change to TR. Hope you see results soon! 💚
Just looking back to when I swopped to TR - we hit a patch of glucose toxicity and needed to increase dose several time across four weeks before we hit our breakthrough dose. I also started a new pen at around the time we started to see blues and greens. I'm still not sure if it was the dose or the fresh insulin.

Oh wow, that is kind of a similar situation. Definitely food for thought. I need to read more about glucose toxicity maybe.

I kind of want to try the new vial just to rule out that variable. It really stresses me out to see all this pink and red when before that we were at least getting a good bit of yellow and the occasional blues.

The reason I asked about the dental yesterday is that needing a dental can cause in increase in BG if there is inflammation/infection. The top of the SS says the date is in June.

Good luck with the new dose.

I'm so sorry about that, fixed it now.

I definitely knew tooth issues could increase BG but was having some back and forth with my vet about how regulated he needed to be before we scheduled him. By the time she gave me the all-clear to schedule, the first available appointment is mid-July.

Good luck with the increase and TR!! 🤗

It may also be the Libre that's giving you higher numbers. I have a Libre on Binx now and sometimes he's been in the pinks on that but on the handheld it's been a blue number. The higher the number too, the larger the discrepancy can be between Libre and handheld. I'm not a Libre expert though, so I only know from my own experience.

Good luck with the switch and the new vial, Lauren. Sometimes it's a matter of trying different things.
You're doing such a great job with Esse!
And yes, there is a difference in numbers from the Libre to a handheld meter.
I typically only test the low numbers with Ivy (that's just how I do it). The higher ones I ignore and she will come back down.
I try to tweak her overall range.
Have a safe night 😻 🐈❤️‍🩹

I have been trying to keep that in mind. We did spot check once when it read "HI" on Saturday and he was at 371, so HI wasn't quite right but the real answer was firmly still pink. I can probably get another one today. It still seems really unusual compared the sort of mixed bag we were getting before. He also just SEEMS high, you know, we know how their behavior changes when they're up there--they don't feel good. And I can tell he doesn't feel good.

That's a nasty catch-22 situation. Cats who really need dentals often can't get regulated without a dental. But we still see lots of vets require regulation first, more due to their comfort level. Neko's first dental was her general practice vet, and she was spending a lot of time above 300. A dental specialist vet is an option, as they tend to be used to dentals on older and more complicated animals.

Hi on the Libre is over 400, so within 20% of that 371.
