Didn't end up having time to post yesterday. My partner's been sick for a week and I'm feeling like I may be coming down with the same thing. 😔 I'm gonna do my best to read everyone's condos and catch up but I apologize if I don't make it through them all and have to catch up tomorrow or Monday!

Today I experimented with @Staci & Ivy and @Helen + Noogi 's suggestion of mixing Xander's LC and his 12% to create a higher LC food. He didn't have a big enough drop by +3 for me to bother, but at about +3.5 it seemed like he was starting a potential dive. I mixed the two together to (theoretically) make a 7% food. I have no idea if it prevented him from getting to greens or if he wouldn't have made it that low anyway, but after a clear bump he stayed strikingly steady for ~5 hours. No idea if it was the food if it just happened, but I'm really hopeful that I can manage to utilize this at the right time and in the right amount to do the same but in the greens. Gonna take some trial and error. I'm really excited to have the ability to "make" my own higher LC food since I haven't been able to get any this whole time!

Happy Saturday! 💙

Really hope you and your partner feel better soon Brianna 🤗

Glad to see that the food experiment is showing some positive results today. Hopefully that works for Xander and you can get some more stability in his cycles and avoid the dreaded bounces. Hope he has a safe surf tonight and you all get some rest.

Thanks, Kat! Crossing my fingers that this could be a real solution to stop those dives (and those stupid bounces!)

Yay, I’m glad to hear it “may” have worked. And I’ve read that some cats do better on a slightly higher LC food.
Ivy’s main diet is 6%, that she eats at all meals. That’s what was recommended to me by the nutritionist who formulated her diet and I think it seems to work well for her.
In fact, when she is diving the 6% does nothing to try to steer her away from a dive, so it’s not like it’s too many Carbs for her.

So, maybe Xander would do better eating a little bit higher LC carb as his main diet.
Maybe you could try to find something in that range if you find that it seems to be working better to keep him from diving as you experiment.
Paw crossed that maybe we have figured out another solution 💪🏼
And I hope you and your partner feel much better. Safe, surfing, Brianna and Xander!! 😻🐈‍⬛💕❤️‍🩹

I've definitely read that too! I wish there were some near me, but I've had absolutely no luck finding anything (other than like one option he won't eat and is fish, which he obviously can't have every day). So if making my own works, fine, I can do that.

If this doesn't help with the diving I'll try the mix for his main food too and see what happens!
