Bit of a surprise to see 175 this am 😦. He was in the greens last night.

He did have a snack at about +10. I'm trying not to overfeed, and he'd eaten all the food in his automatic feeder, so I got the face-in-my-face beg at 4am. Have learnt that he is persistent and impossible to ignore so I gave him a small LC snack to tide him over. Surprised that it would push his BG up so much though (compared to his current normal).

Could also be that I got the dose a bit wrong. I don't know why I struggle with 0.75u so much! I can pull 1u exactly almost every time but when it is less that that I go too far or too little every time, and also get air bubbles. As per chat yesterday I think it's time to revisit the callipers option.

Ew at that 175! I wonder if, like Laurie said, maybe he went a little lower than anticipated overnight and is a slight bounce. Or, like you said, maybe it was just a tiny bit less insulin than needed. I just said this last night elsewhere, but it's amazing how the tiniest drop can make such a big difference!

Do it! with the calipers, I am such a convert!
But all the theories of that number could be true, Helen! Try not to get too crazy...unless you see trends. Maybe just a fluke, lets' have all paws crossed!
Noogi came down beautifully, so hoping it was a one off, or maybe even the strip was flawed!

Yes, I'm not going to stress about it. Still a blue so nothing to worry about really.
And yes, I'm going to test-drive some calipers tomorrow!
 
Re: the 175, is it that the new depot (on the .75 dose) is kicking in?? Or it could have been the food. Or it could have been a bird outside the window :unsure:
 
That’s a tough AMPS after how low he’s been and so consistently, but glad it’s still a blue and even more glad that he’s back in the greens! All the theories sound possible and could he be trying to figure out the new dose, maybe he just needs some time to settle.
