5/14 - Trixie AMPS 95, +2 65, PMPS 106

Hope everyone and all kitties are well! 🤗

Auto feeder failed last night, and Trixie had no food past +3 😡. Knowing she had less calories overnight would affect her cycle today, I gave her a LC snack at +1, checked her at +2 and she was already down to 65 before the insulin even kicked in  so gave another snack before leaving for work. Left snacks in the feeder for +3 and +4 as well. I had such a horrible pit in my stomach having to leave but had no choice.

Hi Kat, I’m sorry about the feeder. Was the battery shot?
I hope all went well today for Trixie!
😻🙏

Ugh, that is SO hard, I can just imagine your anxiety! 🤗 Luckily she seems to stay reallly stable but that can be hard to trust. That dang feeder, do you have the one that shows how long they spent at the feeder?

I hope you and Trixie had a good day. 🌷

Hi Staci, I think what happened is that the food tray got hung up on one of the ice packs. 😞 I’ll be double and triple checking that sucker going forward.

She seems to be okay, glad I left her some extra snacks though.

Hope you and Ivy have a safe and calm night. 🤗

I was SO distracted at work today, it sucked! Unfortunately, it doesn’t show me how long she spends at the feeder. Honestly she usually eats really well. If there was a cat that had to figure out how to eat under water, it would be her. 🤣 I wasn’t as concerned she wouldn’t eat as much as I was concerned she would go low since she has seen 50 twice on this dose in the past.

Appreciate your words of support 💕

Hope you and Petey have a nice night!

That's hilarious! Petey loves eating too!

Totally understand. I use that feature to see if the thing opened like it was supposed to, just a little peace of mind.

Ok so lesson learned. Now you know what to check going forward! 🤞

Guess what I do (helicopter mom that I am)…. I have a pet camera and an alarm set on my phone to coincide with when my feeder is set to open up.
I check the app for the pet cam to see if she’s eating when it opens 😳

Maybe get a camera for her feeding area and you can check on her if you are able to? (They’re pretty inexpensive)
Just an idea from a crazy cat mom 😻

Not crazy at all!! The crazy thing is that I have a camera so I can see what she’s up to for these exact situations but was so frazzled with worry and my usual morning routine, I didn’t move it from its last position so I could see her. 🤦🏾‍♀️ ugh! Not my brightest moment.

Lesson learned for sure!!

Totally understandable!! ❤️‍🩹

Ugh, I can only imagine how rough a day it was being unsure! Stupid feeder. 😩 I'm glad Trixie seems to be such as steady girl (but certainly understand that it doesn't necessarily make you feel more comfortable)!
