5/20 Esse AMPS 239 +2 336 +5 271

Yesterday's thread!

Heard back from the vet and she is more than happy to prescribe the Libre and apply it for us (I did verify that they don't use surgical glue in the application). Going to pick up the prescription today and will make the appt for maybe Thurs or Fri while I'm there. Gives me a day or two to shop around for the best price--going to check the indie pharmacy I get his insulin at and have Costco as my backup. When do I get to start shopping for cute little kitty t-shirts to cover it up? :)

The vet also said that once we're getting better data she'd be comfortable scheduling his dental cleaning, which I'm happy about. His breath does not smell good and given his history I'd rather get it taken care of sooner even if he's not perfectly regulated yet.

Lastly, we got a +2 in the PM to confirm he's not, like, plummeting at night so we can try a dose increase today (0.5u > 0.75u).

HI Lauren, great news for Esse!
I buy my Libre 3's 2 or 4 at a time from my local grocery store pharmacy and I pay around $37 each. They use a Blink health couponm which they apply in their system for the best price. (I am on the East Coast).
I hope this helps, but I would shop around for the best price!
Good luck with the new sensors and hoping Esse doesn't even mind wearing the sensor. Some cats don't mind and you don't have to use a tee shirt.
Ivy hated a tee and she now wears a "tube top" with no shoulders or collar, which is much better for her. Time will tell what will work for you.
Sending all goo wishes! 😻

Great news!! 😁 Best of luck with the increase!

I know we talked about Costco for the Libres before, but not sure if we talked about the covering. If you find that a t-shirt (or anything else, if you're like us) doesn't work for Esse, try a roll of self-adhering elastic bandage. We use the 2" wide Walmart brand one and it's literally the only thing he's tolerated! It's also super cheap, so that's nice.

Ooh and I even actually have some of this already from when I fell in the river last summer and had to bandage my knees up for a bit, hah.
