Phoebe seems to be doing good with the reduction.
Of course, I don't have data as I was out of town for a few days. (spreadsheet).
But she lands well on her pmps.
I think she scrapped with one of the other kitties while I was gone. she has a little scratch on her ear. I am currently avoiding that ear till the scab falls off.
ouch!
As I asked about her pokes and difficulty getting blood. Does anyone feel I should a larger lancet? I have the 31G for her for less pain.

any thoughts?

Once I'd been poking Neko for a while, I went to the smaller lancets. They were the Onetouch Delica, 33g I think. I freehanded. But that's what worked for us. Maybe the petsitter will need a thicker one.

I have started to warm longer. Currently only using one ear as the other one has a scratch on it.
I have the Relion kit with the spring loaded adjustable pen. I actually increased the depth to 2.
It seems to be working so far. But I also poke my finger when I put it behind the ear to stabilize. Which makes me think that is too deep. And it is a prick!
I will hold steady on this plan for now and see if it continues to do well. Last 2 pokes were great.
new day 6/3 new post

Hold a cotton square / ball / the rice sock under the ear so you don't poke your finger. Make sure the lancet is new and sharp. Dull lancets won't poke as well.

Leroy's nearly at the point where I can practically look at his ear and it will bleed 🤣

That is a great idea... never thought of the cotton square.
Although it does give me an idea of how much it hurts her.
will try this also. Thanks!
