Busy day on the board today!
  • Fixed donation progress bar to show uncapped percentage. Previously the display was capped at 100% (we have far exceeded 100%!)
  • Set up Google advertisements. Hopefully this helps us find more of our strays.
  • Created a Facebook page.
  • Added a couple health links for UK and Australian members.
  • Added “OTJ Trial” thread prefix.
  • Paused donor and top donor banners. Reevaluating the best way to do this.

There is/was a FB group attached to the Feline Diabetes Message Board. If you try to post on the FDMB website, you find that the board crashed toward the end of April. That board has been around for 25 years and you are correct, there was/is a FB page that was affiliated. When the board crashed, the webmaster became critically ill shortly thereafter and we are unable to be in touch with him and he's not in a place where he can get the board back up and running. As a result, Tim & Pookey generously got this site started. Because we are concerned about new people getting frustrated with the old board, with the cooperation of the members who are the moderators for the FB site, Tim created a new FB page so we can migrate members to both places -- FB and here. I'm assuming you've seen the post from Marje regarding the board update.

One thing that tripped me up is the difference between Facebook “page” and “group”. The existing Feline Diabetes “group” isn’t going anywhere. Our page will just run kind of separately.

Yes I know about the other board crashing and there being a temporary one for a while and now this one. I didnt know how it all came about because I havent been here in a while. Weve been managing pretty well on our own. But I like to check in from time to time and saw all the new stuff and this peaked my interest. I know about the FB page associated with the other message board. So that one isnt associated with this new message board? And what is the link for the new Facebook page? By the way, the original FB page does have a link to this board on their page and is just saying this is the new message board, so everyone there must think they are still connected.

Im not sure what you mean by the existing Feline Diabetes Facebook group not going anywhere. They apparently think they are still connected to this new message board because they have a link to it on their main page. Thats how I found this new one. I spend a lot of time on Facebook so go there frequently. The difference that I see in the FB group and this board is that on the FB group anyone can respond with opinions and even advice, where on here, its usually just the moderators that respond with advice and everyone else just cheers them on and wishes them luck. I found the message board extremely helpful in the beginning but once I found my footing, havent really needed to come here much. Ive been at this for about 1 1/2 years. Thank you for all your effort in getting this new board working again. I will still refer people here. I run Cats With Pancreatitis on Facebook and send people here a lot. Btw, What is the link for the new Facebook page please.

They are all interconnected. When this was blowing up, Chris and I were in close contact since we were the only people who had been able to reach Robert. We have simply trying every possible way to get the word out.

Ok thanks. I had found it. Its a "like" page, not a group. And you link to the original Facebook group. Great so they are still connected. I have dealt with Chris. She(?) set up my spreadsheet when I first started, then referred me to the message board.
