Things are still weird with the Libre and the constant in and out of SE. His scabs are getting smaller so hopefully soon we'll be done with this.

I'm suddenly seeing action at night, which I almost never do, but I'm thinking it's probably just because the Libre is closer to the injection site than it used to be. It's maybe like 4 inches away now (which is supposed to still be enough; Libre just says not within an inch of an injection site). Interesting though. I wonder if he's normally having some action and we don't see it for some reason. Or maybe it's a coincidence and we're just starting to see more at night. Guess we'll find out when the Libre is moved back to its usual spot. I have been trying to inject slightly higher on his hips too, but the difference started after this new Libre placement.

Hope everyone's having a nice Friday. Gonna go catch up again. 🙂

No real way to know exactly what’s going on Brianna, everything’s always a mystery isn’t it?
There’s a lot of guess work and we only do the best we can to try to control what we can.

I guess it’s possible his patterns are changing to see some nighttime differences. But like you said, you’ll see once things go back to a more normal situation.
Glad to hear he’s healing and hopefully he’s nice and calm with his comfy flower collar.

Give your sweet boy some chin scratches from me 😻💕🐈‍⬛❤️‍🩹

You're right! Wish we could get clear answers about things once in a while lol

Chin scratches deployed! Flower Power Boy sends loves back. 😁💜

Not sure if it is the false reading from the libre, but those mini-bounces are wild! It is really nice to see him stay in the blues for longer periods. Hope his skin irritations clear up completely real soon!

Nice to see good cycles in the morning AND evening cycles! Not without a guessing game though 😂 I wish we knew way so we could make sure to keep repeating that one thing, but who knows!

I hope it continues 🤗 Safe surfing 💚💙
It is! They're wonky, but at least there's some blue and green in there. And yeah, there's always gotta be the question mark and the ambiguity. 😅

Thanks, Briana! 🥰

It is really weird! I'm inclined to think it's the Libre and he's somewhere in the middle between all these ranges. If you look at the actual graphs they look nuts, up and down and up and down all day. It was worse at the beginning of this sensor and was really driving me crazy and now I'm kinda just used to it and rolling my eyes. I think I won't adjust his dose until I change it (hopefully by the time this one is up it'll be healed enough to put it in the right spot!) so that I don't have to wonder. He's getting at least acceptable numbers here for now, so... 🤞🏻

Was just catching up on your last few days! That pic of him laying with the flower power cone was just darling.

Wanted to drop a recommendation for the e-collar we used when Esse was healing from an abscess - https://a.co/d/d2L4zkk - the vet tech at the emergency vet actually recommended it. I got two of them because the wound drainage + messy eating made them gross quick and was able to wash them in the sink with Dr. Bronners and hot water. I actually think they would have gone through the washer fine in a lingerie bag but I never bothered.

Thank you so much for the suggestion! I'll definitely throw that in my list in case we need another. He always gets out of everything but that one seems to have a similar tightening ability to this one (which has worked so far)!
