I was looking at his vial of insulin and I think it might be time to start a new bottle. I'm going to check with his vet today about switching from the vials to the pens.

Hi Maddie, I like the pens so much better, I always feel like because they are a smaller amount. They are less likely to have a problem since you’re using them quicker than a vial.

And if you decide to throw one away for any reason, you are losing less insulin. Plus if for some reason, I dropped a vial, I would want to scream, a pen, not as much😘

There should be no reason they give you a hard time about pens versus vial, they just may not be as familiar with prescribing a box of pens.

As I’m sure you know, you use it the same way, withdrawing the insulin with your syringe from the pen tip.
