Good morning. Yes I was nervous shooting that low cause he just hasn't been getting much bump from food in the daytime.. at night he does, it's weird. We'll see what he does today, but yes, if I shouldn't take back to back reductions I believe I would need to hold this for 4 cycles from when the lime appears.Morning Laurie, looks like you might be in for another active cycle
I see you went ahead with a little HC. I would likely have done the same, especially if I was exhausted and/or not able to monitor closely.
Another couple cycles on 2.5u and then you can see if he is ready for another reduction maybe?
Good luck, hope it does the trick. Sometimes it feels like we are mad scientists in the middle of a crazy experiment doesn't it?!Good morning. I've been using soggy HC kibble cause that's all I have right now so my hope is getting that in early... by the time he digests it that will be when he needs it most.... I hope... we'll see.
Does that mean you'll get to reduce tonight (4 cycles)? We'll see what he does today, but yes, if I shouldn't take back to back reductions I believe I would need to hold this for 4 cycles from when the lime appears.
Makes perfect sense. I'm going to copy this and put it in my FD file, so I won't forget. Thanks, Angela.I don't mind at all. As I have come to understand it, its all about the Depot. We don't take back to back reductions when following TR because the action seen right after a reduction is being influenced by the higher depot. It takes about 4-6 cycles for the depot to stabilize on a dose and that's the opportunity to see what the dose can do. Often times, taking a back to back reduction results in having to go back up in dose after the depot stabilizes. I have often fed slightly higher carbs in the cycles after a reduction precisely to avoid a back to back reduction.
Now if at ANY time kitty goes under 40 on a human meter, its an immediate reduction. Hope that helps
Yes, Helen!! That's a perfect description! Mad scientists!Good luck, hope it does the trick. Sometimes it feels like we are mad scientists in the middle of a crazy experiment doesn't it?!
HI Laurie, I hope Petey is feeling well. He sure is showing you action these days since his dental!5/12 Post
Oh boy, I shot, I hope that was the right call. We will likely earn another reduction today.
Thinking of going HC at +1. Thoughts?
Same. thank you @Angela & Cleo. Do you think I fed too much today? I didn't think I should walk the line... just in case it was going to be a deep dive..Makes perfect sense. I'm going to copy this and put it in my FD file, so I won't forget. Thanks, Angela.
The answer depends on how carb sensitive kitty is. Since you're still learning Petey's sensitive after the dental then my answer is all data is good dataSame. thank you @Angela & Cleo. Do you think I fed too much today? I didn't think I should walk the line... just in case it was going to be a deep dive..
It was an active morning and I didn't want to give him the chance to dive, but he got several hours in the greens, but he's gonna get fat! HahaHI Laurie, I hope Petey is feeling well. He sure is showing you action these days since his dental!
I hope he surfs gently and the depot stabilizes soon!
Have a calm and boring day, Laurie![]()
All the food I fed him may not have helped!Welp. He bounced! Bless his little heart. His pancreas is like, whoa, I'm trying to manage things now that the teefers are better, but these greens are scary. Easy, Petey!
You absolutely will get him dialed in; it's just taking a minute since he's truly a bit in flux since the dental. But look at all those greens here lately! Beautiful! All the food I fed him may not have helped!we'll get it dialed in the more data we have in the green zone.
