@Staci & Ivy @Brianna & Xander
We did it! Or at least we think we did. We made it through the one-hour set-up period and the first reading is just "HI"--does that mean >400? He is probably a little stressed from the whole endeavor and he did eat a big snack (although it was half normal LC food and half plain chicken) while we were applying it, so >400 would be a little unusual but not crazy. I know it's a known thing that the readings the first 12-24 hours are inaccurate so I guess I'm just looking for reassurance that we didn't break it somehow.
Also a dumb question for you Brianna--do you replace the bandage wrap at any point in the two weeks, or just leave it on as long as it doesn't get too dirty?
Yay!!
Great job!! Now you’re experienced!!
I think the reality as it takes longer to do the prep work than to actually attach the sensor. It’s over in like a second once it makes that click you’re done

And the same thing for the kitty, they hear the click, they turn their head and it’s over before they even know what happened
I agree with Brianna, I’m not so sure the sensor is inaccurate either in the first day.
A lot of times what I’ve noticed is my old sensor Let’s say was in the 150 range before I ended it and the new one after the one hour warm-up was somewhere in the same range so that tells me they are within range of one another.
And like Brianna said, if something seems really off, that’s when you would want to test.
I don’t worry too much about the high numbers because I’m not really going to change anything (immediately) if they’re high.
It’s really the
low numbers I worry about if that makes any sense. The low numbers is where I would need to take action, give higher carbs, etc.
Hoping Esse has no problem getting used to that Libre!
Do you have it transmitting to your phone through the app so you can see what his bg is?
Great job!!
